Villa Named OEC Runner of the Year, McCarron Deemed Coach of the Year
The Riverside City College men's and women's cross country team recently competed in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships with the men placing first overall and the women placing second overall. The 14 runners from each side earn All-Conference recognition and a number of Tigers earn the accolade. Furthremore, Head Coach Jim McCarron was named the OEC Male Coach of the Year for the fourth-straight season and the eighth time in the last 11 years.
Highlighting the bunch was sophomore Enrique Villa who was crown the OEC Champion thus being deemed the 2018 Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year. It is the second-consecutive time he was named the runner of the year after earning the award in 2017. Sophomore Austin Dai followed him in fourth place thus earning him First-Team All-Conference recognition for the second-consecutive season.
