Bio

Loren Overbo enters her second year as Riverside City College Athletics’ educational advisor. She is the head contact for football, men's & women's water polo, men's & women's basketball, baseball, softball, and men's & women's swimming & diving.

In just two years, Overbo has helmed the Athletic Learning Center (ALC) and has made a strong impact for numerous student-athletes. She has assisted in transferring over 95 student-athletes to four-year universities and the number continues to ride the elevator up as seasons progress. This total four-year university transfer mark reads three-times higher than the remainder of the RCC student body.

Overbo has helped the Tiger student-athletes average a cumulative 2.54 grade-point-average during the 2016-17 academic year. The RCC baseball team was a strong factor as they hauled in the 2017 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.

Additionally, Overbo is in charge of the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) for Riverside Athletics which she took over in the fall of 2017. SAAC is comprised of one student-athlete from each intercollegiate program in junction with Riverside Athletics administration to bolster community engagement. SAAC has participated in RCC’s Halloween Town and has travel to Moreno Valley Early Childhood Educational Center and performed readings to children.

Overbo is no stranger to the Riverside Athletics. She was a member of the women’s water polo team from 2003-05 under legendary Riverside coach Dave Almquist during his first year as the women’s head coach. She then received a scholarship to attend California State University - Northridge for two years and played water polo and received a degree in economics.

She continued her education at the University of Phoenix where she earned her Master of Business Administration.
