Women’s Cross Country Place Eighth, Huntley Lands Fourth Overall at State Championships

The Riverside City College women's cross country team traveled to Woodward Park in Fresno, CA on Saturday to compete in the California Community College Athletics Association (CCCAA) State Championships. The Tigers landed in the top-10 as they placed eighth overall lead by a sixth place finish from sophomore Elani Huntley.

Huntley, who has acted as the top runner for the Tigers in nearly every meet of the season, did not disappoint in the final race of the season. She placed sixth overall and was the fourth-highest scoring runner after clocking a mark of 18:38.2.

It was a top-heavy showing as the next-best finisher for the Tigers was freshman Dakota Zamarripa who placed 73rd overall. She earned an overall mark reading 21:05.5. Freshman Daniella Torres placed 84th overall with a mark of 21:25.9, while sophomore Dakota Hirst rounds out the top performers with a time of 21:40.1 to earn 96th place.
