Women’s Cross Country Places 10th at SoCals  

The Riverside City College women's cross-country team competed at the Southern California Regional Championships on Friday morning in Bakersfield, CA. The Tigers placed 10th overall and qualified for the state championships. 

The Tigers were shorthanded, but sophomore Elani Huntley was the anchor to the squad once again. She placed 11th overall with a mark of 18:49.38 after nearly snapping the tape last week at the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships.

The next-best finisher was freshman Dakota Zamarripa after she placed just inside the top-60. She finsihed 59th overall with a time of 20:55.27. Freshman Danielle Torres followed in 67th place with a mark reading 21:07.73, while freshman Lidia Barrios rounded out the top finishers in 85th place at a time of 21:53.94.

Riverside will compete in the CCCAA State Championship on Saturday, November 19 at Woodward Park in Fresno, CA.
