Women’s Cross Country Tackles Tough Terrain at Manny Bautista Invite

The Riverside City College women's cross-country team hit the road to compete in the Manny Bautista Invite hosted by San Diego Mesa College. The Tigers faced off against some tough competition landing them in eighth place.

Riverside was the highest finishing Orange Empire Conference (OEC) school as they placed two positions higher than Saddleback and four positions better than Santiago Canyon. Additionally, they were the fifth strongest squad in the South finishing behind first-place San Diego Mesa and second-place MT. SAC to name a few.

Sophomore Elani Huntley continued to be the workhorse for the Tigers as she placed 16th overall with a time of 20:06.84. She was three seconds outside of the top-15.

Freshman Dakota Zamarripa squeaked into the top-50 with a time of 22:00.63 to land her 49th overall. Freshman duo Lidia Barrios (23:06.44) and Alma Vasquez (23:10.50) finished in 65th place and 66th place, while sophomore Dakota Hirst (23:21.36) rounded out the top five for the Tigers by finishing in 69th place.
