Women's Cross Country Returns to the Podium at SD Mesa Invitational

The Riverside City College women's cross country teamed toed the line at the San Diego Mesa Invitational on the hunt for their third podium finish of the season. The Tigers relied on the same faces to get them to the top with one newcomer in the top five leading to a third-place finish.

The Tigers placed third overall for the third time this season and the first time since mid-September.

Briana Rodriguez was the top dog for Riverside as she placed seventh overall with a time of 20:24.35. It is the first time this season she has paced the Tiger's pack.

Following at Rodriguez's heals was Elani Huntley who placed a mere second behind in eighth place. She finished with a time of 20:25.21. Helena Valdez rounded out the top three for the Tigers and landed in the top-15 overall with a time of 20:47.36. Her time was good for 14th overall.

Brianna Mendez-Espain squeaked inside the top-30 with a 28th place finish at 21:38.55. Laila Wright rounded out the top-30 with a time reading 21:41.32.
