Riverside Finishes 14th at 35th Annual UC Riverside Invitational Saturday.

RIVERSIDE -- Posting a 14th-place finish, but second among community college outfits, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's cross country team competed at the 35th Annual UC Riverside (UCR) Invitational Saturday morning (Sept. 13) at UCR's Agricultural Operations Course.

Riverside, which accumulated 380 points (14th place), was led by sophomore Brianna Jacklin, who was 51st overall (22:35.1), followed by sophomore Crystal Tejeda, who was 75th overall (23:43.7), frosh Natalie Vaughn (Corona / Santiago HS '15), who was 79th overall (23:59.9), frosh Megan Reed (Riverside / Poly HS '15), who was 87th overall (25:24.6), and sophomore Morgan Tapia (Eastvale / Eleanor Roosevelt HS '15), who was 88th overall (25:27.4).

Frosh Nicole Cordero (Bloomington / Bloomington HS '12) was 90th overall (26:50.8) and frosh Samantha Castillo (Riverside / La Sierra HS '15) was 91st overall (26:51.5) to round out the Tigers' top seven finishers.

Aminat Olowora of Southwestern College (13th place, 311 points) won the race with a time of 20:28.8 over the 6.0-kilometer race. The University of Arkansas finished first with a total of 27 points. Arkansas' Devin Clark was second overall with a time of 20:39.0

The Tigers will return to action on Friday, Sept. 18, at the SoCal Preview which will take place at Mission Bay in San Diego at 10 a.m.
