No. 1 Riverside Routs Orange Coast for Second Conference Win

It was an offensive melee on Wednesday evening as the top-ranked Tigers hosted Orange Empire Conference (OEC) foe Orange Coast. Riverside laid on a thick offense by tying their season-high goal total of 20 leading to a commanding victory.

Riverside jumped out to an immediate lead and never looked back as seen in a 7-1 advantage after the first period. They scored five goals in the second and blanked the Pirates. They continued on to score four goals in each of the ensuing periods to reel in a 20-4 win.

Four players scored two or more goals while 14 players found the back of the net. Freshman tandem Kadee Torres-Guerrero and Deja Martz paced their team by each scoring three goals. Martz pocketed two steals and dished out an assist as well.

Sophomore Hannah Peercy has been a defensive catalyst and led her team again in steals with three. She dished out two assists and scored one goal. Sophomore Kameryn Pfeiffer recorded two steals and scored the final goal for Riverside.

Sophomore Madison Button earned the win in the cage after two periods of works, while freshman Natalie Rees finished out the work in the cage and recorded a pair of saves.

Riverside (11-1, 2-0 OEC) will continue action tomorrow on the road as they take on Citrus at 9 a.m. and San Diego Mesa at 11:30 a.m. on the road.
