Riverside Women’s Water Polo Defeats Golden West in SoCal Playoffs

After receiving a first-round bye in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Southern California Championships, the Riverside City College women's water polo team faced off against the Golden West College Rustlers in the second round of the championships on Friday morning. It was all Riverside throughout the entire ballad as they outscored the Rustlers in each quarter leading to a 10-5 victory.

Riverside utilized a small sample of players to haul in the victory with sophomore Kate Fox leading the way on offense. She netted a total of four goals which marks the seven game she has scored four or more goals in a game. She added three drawn ejections and a steal in the process.

Freshman Amelia Bennet continued her hot play by scoring two goals while dishing out three assists. She has found the back of the net seven times in the last four games. Sophomore Nikkol Webber was dynamic, per usual, by firing home two goals and dishing out three assist.

Sophomore Hannah McCarley picked up her 14th win of the season after earning 11 saves while going the distance in the cage.

Riverside will face off against second-ranked Santa Barbara City College tomorrow at 9:45 a.m.
