Tigers Place Third at CCCAA State Championships

The Riverside City College women's water polo team looked to haul in the bronze medal in the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Championships in a showdown against a familiar foe in San Joaquin Delta.  The Tigers outscored SJD, 5-2, in the second half leading to a third-place victory with the final score reading 12-8.

It is the fourth time the Tigers have beaten SJD on the season. Freshman attacker Nikkol Webber (Riverside, CA) had a standout performance by doing it all. She fired home three scores while adding three assists, four steals and two drawn ejections.

Sophomore defender Anay Ramirez (Riverside, CA) and freshman Kate Fox (Murrieta, CA) each hummed home four goals, while Fox chipped in two steals and two drawn ejections.

Freshman goalkeeper Hannah McCarley (Riverside, CA) earned the victory in the cage after reeling in eight saves.

The Tigers finish the season with an overall record of 26-5 which includs an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) finals appearance, SoCal Regional Finals appearance, and a fifth-straight CCCAA State Championship appearance.
