Women’s Water Polo Caps Conference Play with Victory Over Golden West

The Riverside City College women's water polo squad hit the road for their final Orange Empire Conference (OEC) matchup of the season against the Golden West College Rustlers. In a low scoring affair, the Tigers reigned supreme and hauled in a 6-3 victory to finish conference play at a mark of 5-1.

Sophomore attacker Dafne Garcia (Mexico City, NM) returned to the pool after missing five games and made a strong impact by netting a score while adding an assist and pocketing a pair of steals.

Freshman attacker Katy Peterson (Menifee, CA) continued to cart a hot hand for the Tigers by firing home two goals and swiping one steal. With her pair of goal, Peterson has scored in 14 consecutive games and is now fifth in the OEC in goals with 56.

Sophomore attackers Josceline Godinez (Menifee, CA) and Megan Upton (Corona, CA) facilitated the majority of the offense by dishing out two assists each. They both recorded one steal as well.

The Tigers (21-2, 5-1 OEC) will enter the OEC Championships on Thursday, November 2nd hosted at Cypress College. Stay tuned for more details at rccathletics.com.
