Tigers Top Visiting Golden West, 7-3, Wednesday; Finish Undefeated in OEC Play

RIVERSIDE -- Snapping a 1-1 tie with a pair of second-quarter goals, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's water polo squad completed an undefeated Orange Empire Conference (OEC) regular season with a 7-3 OEC home win over the visiting Golden West College (GWC) Rustlers Wednesday (Oct. 26) at the Riverside Aquatic Center on the RCC campus.

Riverside City (25-1 overall, 6-0 OEC) was tied, 1-1, at the end of the first quarter before leading, 3-1, at halftime and 5-2 at the end of the third quarter over GWC (20-4 overall, 5-1 OEC).

RCC sophomore attacker Mary Myers (Riverside / M.L. King HS '15) -- who is pictured -- had two goals and six steals. Sophomore two-meter offense player Emily Martin (Yucaipa / Yucaipa HS '15) also had two goals. Sophomore attacker Sarina Briseno (Riverside / Riverside Poly HS '15) had one goal, three assists and four steals.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ariana Olmos (Redlands / Redlands East Valley HS '15) had 12 saves.

With the win, Riverside secured the No. 1 seed in next week's OEC Championships which will be held at Saddleback College. RCC will play on November 3, at 3:40 p.m. against an opponent to be named.
