Tigers Score Early and Often, Defeat Visiting Saddleback, 15-5, Wednesday

RIVERSIDE -- The Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's water polo squad scored six goals in the first quarter and cruised to a 15-5 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) home victory over the visiting Saddleback College Gauchos Wednesday (Oct. 19).

Riverside City (20-1 overall, 5-0 OEC) led, 9-1, at halftime and 11-2 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Tigers were led by frosh attacker Anay Ramirez (Riverside / M.L. King HS) ed the way with six goals, while sophomore two-meter offense player Emily Martin (Yucaipa / Yucaipa HS '15) added three.

Sophomore attacker Citlali Salazar (Eastvale / Eleanor Roosevelt HS '15) played a solid game with one goal, two assists and five steals. Sophomore attacker Mary Myers (Riverside / M.L. King HS '15) had a goal, an assist and four steals.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ariana Olmos (Redlands / Redlands East Valley HS '15) had 13 saves and three steals for RCC.

Riverside will next be in action on Friday, Oct. 21, when it visits Long Beach City College (LBCC) Vikings in LBCC's Battle at the Beach Tournament.
