Riverside Improves to 4-0 After Pair of Wins on Saturday

SACRAMENTO -- With another pair of wins at the American River College (ARC) Tournament this weekend (Sept. 11-12), the 2015 Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's water polo squad remained unbeaten on the season.

Riverside (4-0 overall) -- one of three teams from Southern California to go 4-0 at the ARC Tournament -- opened Saturday's action with a 20-2 romp over Las Positas College. Twelve Tigers scored in the game, led by frosh Sarina Briseno and Sierra Venegas with two goals apiece. In an afternoon contest, RCC admittedly struggled before emerging victorious with a 10-6 victory over San Joaquin Delta College.

Although the Tigers jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter, they struggled with their shooting, going only ten for 30 on the offensive end. Frosh Jacque Godinez and Briseno led the scoring with two goals apiece while sophomore Kayla Chang (Laie, HI / Kahuku (Oahu) HS '14) -- who is pictured -- was solid in goal recording 11 saves.

RCC will host its first home game on Wednesday, Oct. 7, when it greets the Santa Ana College Dons in an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) game at 3 p.m.
