Fullerton Comes From Behind to Edge Riverside, 11-9, in Conference First Place Showdown

FULLERTON -- In a showdown for undisputed first place in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC), the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's water polo squad scored early, but fell to the host Fullerton College (FC) Hornets, 11-9, Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 29).

Riverside (22-3, 5-1 OEC) jumped to a 3-0 first-quarter lead, but Fullerton battled back to lead, 6-5, at halftime. The Tigers took an 8-7 lead into the final frame, but the Hornets (26-0, 6-0 OEC)outscored RCC, 4-1, in the final eight minutes to pull out the win. 

Sophomore Nikki Bell (Riverside / M.L. King '13) again led the way for the Tigers with a team-high six goals. Frosh goalkeeper Kayla Chang (Kahuku, HI), who is pictured, had seven saves.
