RCC Women Crush Cypress, 15-2, on Wednesday; Improve to 16-1 overall

RIVERSIDE - Getting back to its winning ways, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's water polo squad led from start to finish and rolled to a 15-2 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) win over the visiting Cypress College Chargers Wednesday afternoon (Oct. 15).

Riverside (16-1 overall, 4-0 OEC), the 2013 state tournament runner-up, led, 5-1, after the first quarter, 8-1, at halftime, 12-1, after three quarters, and led, 15-1, until Cypress scored in the game's final minute.

Sophomore Nikki Bell (Riverside / M.L. King '13), who is pictured, again led the way for the Tigers with four goals and two assists, and frosh Danika Bell (Riverside / M.L. King '14) added three goals. Seven other Tigers scored at least onhe goal

Sophomore goalkeeper Nikki Vaughan (Riverside / La Sierra '13), who is pictured, played in the fourth quarter, logged six saves (one goal allowed). 

With the win, the Tigers will next prepare for its Fourth Annual RCC Mini Tournament which will be held on Friday, Oct. 17. In addition to both the RCC men's and women's teams participating, they will be joined by the Long Beach City College men's and women's teams, the Palomar College Comets men's team and the American River College women's squad.
