Two Victories for RCC in Mini Tournament
The RCC Women's Water Polo Team played today in a one day mini tournament hosted at the Riverside Aquatics Complex.
In the first game of the day the Tigers defeated American River College 14-5. The Tigers were led by sophomore Megan Geurts who had 5 goals and 5 steals in the contest. Freshman Nikki Bell added 4 goals and 6 steals while freshman Alia McMorris had 3 goals and 4 assists. Katia Montoya had 6 saves in goal for the Tigers.
In the second game of the day the Tigers battled Long Beach City College and behind great defense came out with an 11-1 victory. Freshman Nikki Vaughn had 8 saves in goal and freshmen Nikki Bell and Alia McMorris each scored 3 goals. Sophomore Megan Geurts chipped in 2 more goals in the effort.
With the victories today the Tigers improve to 19-0 on the season. They will next take on Fullerton in a conference game at home on Wednesday October 23.
