Tigers Fall in Four Sets

The Riverside City College women's indoor volleyball squad snapped its four game wining streak on Wednesday night after falling to the Saddleback College Bobcats in four sets by the final score reading 14-25, 26-24, 21-25, 22-25.

Three players landed in double digit kills with sophomore Miranda Gates and Maggie Aburto hammering home 11 kills each. Freshman Jessica Lepe found the floor for 10 kills on 40 attempts. No one player aside from gates earned a hitting percentage over .150. Gates was an even .500.

Sophomore Hailey Gray started at setter and lofted up 15 assist. Freshman Chloe Christelman was the top assists leader with 18 of the bench.

Aburto landed in double-digit digs for the second-consecutive match by earning a career high 19. Lepe followed with 14 digs, while freshman Ashley Elias-Romero pocketed nine.

Sophomroe Keeley Hober manned the net with six kills and two block assists, while Aburto recorded the lone block solo.

Riverside (4-4, 1-1 OEC) will continue action at home on Friday, September 24 as they host No. 11 Irvine Valley at 6 p.m.
