Riverside Volleyball Splits in Non-Conference Action

The Riverside City College women's volleyball squad hit the road for a pair of non-conference match ups this Friday evening. The Tigers split on the night highlighted by a four-set victory over the Victor Valley College Rams with final set scores reading 25-22, 18-25, 25-13, and 25-17.

The Tigers' offense was paced by freshman duo Kiara Oregon (Riverside, CA) and Darricka Hewitt (Riverside, CA). They each tallied a total of 15 kills to account for the majority of the attacking force. Both Oregon and Hewitt landed in double-digit kills for the third time on the season and second-consecutive game.

Freshman opposite Madison Bogh (Highland, CA) backed them by denting the deck for five kills, while freshman outside Kyndra Jordan-Thomas (Victorville, CA) recorded four kills.

Freshman setting tandem Taylor Gardner (Colton, CA) and Tessie Evalu (Wildomar, CA) ran the offense with Gardner leading the way with 19 assists. Evalu followed with 11 assists.

The Tigers battled with Cuesta, but fell short. The first set was a battle and set the tone, but Riverside ultimately dropping the set 30-28. Oregon and Hewitt lead the way again with Oregon leading with 13 kills and Hewitt landing 12.

The Tigers (6-4, 1-1 OEC) will return home for conference action by facing off against the Orange Coast College Pirates on Wednesday, September 27th at 6 p.m.
