The Tigers fall to Cypress

CYPRESS (10-3-2012) – Riverside suffered a disappointing loss to a feisty Cypress team. Cypress exposed some weaknesses in the Riverside (6-3, 1-1 OEC) offense.  RCC won the first set 25-20, but a poor offensive showing in the second set shifted the momentum in Cypress' favor. The Tigers lost the second match 14-25. RCC could not rebound despite using a variety of substitutions patterns. Riverside went on to lose the third and fourth sets. Sophomore middle hitter, Kayla Johns, led the team with eleven kills for the match. The hitting percentage for the team was a mere .184. The blocking for the Tigers was a little bit more efficient as they finished with eight block assists.

The Tigers will have the opportunity to revenge the loss at home on Oct. 26th when the Chargers travel to Riverside.

On Friday, Riverside will play at Orange Coast. Game time is at 6 p.m.
