Women's Track & Field Flashes Dominance at OEC Prelims

The Riverside City College women's track & field team hit the road on Thursday and Friday to compete in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Prelims hosted by Fullerton College. The Tigers set themselves up for a strong OEC finals by amassing 95 points, which is 61 points stronger than current second-place Orange Coast.

Sophomore Alejandra Rosales placed first overall in the Hammer (138' 6"), while placing third overall in the Javelin (89' 3"). Freshman Rylee Blanton landed in third place in the Hammer (136' 3").

Riverside swept the podium in the 10,000 M with sophomore Elani Huntley (42:40.94) pacing the pack. Freshman Lauren Valencia followed in second place (46:36.89), while freshman Dakota Zamarripa place third (47:21.07).

Freshman duo Lilana Quezada and Briana Miller finished consecutively in the 400 M. Quezada place first overall (59.52) for the lone sub one-minute mark, while Miller earned second place (1:00.25).

Sophomore Zoe Ewell snapped the tape in the 100 M (12.08) and followed with a top finish in the 200 M (24.54).

Sophomore Trinai Bedolla placed third in the Long Jump (16' 3 ¼"), while sophomore Taylyn Henry followed with a fourth-place mark (16' 1").
