Women’s Track Podiums in Three Events at RCC Early Bird

It has been nearly two years since the Riverside City College women's track and field team hit their home track for an official meet. Today, the Tigers were back in action by hosting the RCC Early Bird in their second showing of the year. They were down significant numbers due to some injuries leading to a fifth place finish (47).

The Mt. San Antonio College Mounties came in first place (209), followed by the CSU San Bernardino Wolverines (151) and the Cerritos College Falcons (115).

Riverside had three vents land in the top three highlighted by Zoe Ewell's first place finish in the 60 M (7.77). She finished well before the second-place finisher by nearly half of one second.

Briana Olukoj came in second place in the 300 M (41.45) to round out the top sprinting events.

The 4000 Medley Relay comprised of Briana Rodridguez, Helenda Valdez, Arlene Castro and Elani Huntley placed second overall (14:45.92) to highlight the distance runners.

The 1600 M Relay (4:08.96) was extremely close to placing after falling .04 seconds shy of third place. Kayla Johnson, Olukoju, B. Rodriguez and Huntley made up the quartet.

Riverside will continue action at home on Friday, February 25 to host the OEC Invitational.
