NORWALK -- Three heptathletes from the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's track and field team had a great showing at the Southern California (SoCal) Multi-event Championships at Cerritos College last Tuesday and Wednesday (Apr. 5-6).

For the first time in RCC Tiger women's track and field history, three heptathletes have qualified for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Women's Track and Field Championships (May 20-21) at San Diego Mesa College.

RCC frosh Karla Alatorre (Torreon, MX) placed third place (4,043 points), sophomore Aaliyah Goshen (Riverside / Patriot HS '13) finished in fifth place (3,745 points), and red-shirt frosh Diamond Scott (Moreno Valley / Vista del Lago HS '13) settled into sixth place (3,743 points).

Their placement secured 13 points for RCC in the Southern California Championship meet on May 14 at Antelope Valley College.

In the Heptathlon, the women were incredible," said RCC fourth-year throws coach Nick Robinson.

RCC will be in action this weekend at the Cerritos Invitational, Frida-Saturday, Apr. 8-9, in Norwalk.
