Riverside Wins 12 Events, Rolls to 110-42 OEC Dual Meet Win over Visiting Orange Coast

RIVERSIDE -- Winning 12 events, including 4x100-meter relay, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's track and field team won in convincing fashion with a 110-42 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) dual meet victory over the visiting Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates last Friday (Mar. 25) at legendary Arthur N. Wheelock Stadium on the RCC campus.

A pair of Tigers posted a pair of wins: RCC sophomore Tiarah McDaniels (Perris / Paramount HS '14 / Cerritos CC) won the 100-meter dash (:12.26) and the 200-meter dash (:24.93) and sophomore Kayla Wilson (Indio / La Quinta HS '14) won the 400-meter dash (1:00.70) and the long jump (5.26 meters / 17' 3-1/4").

Frosh Ajah Wilson (Indio / La Quinta HS '15) -- Kayla's sister -- won the discus throw (34.99 meters / 114' 2").

Other victories posted by RCC athletes were by sophomore N. Vaughn () in the 5,000-meter run (19:43.46), frosh Destinee Widgins (San Jacinto / San Jacinto HS '15) in the triple jump (11.62 meters / 38' 1-1/2"), frosh Danielle Spargur (Norco / Phoenix, AZ - Sunrise Mountain [AZ] '14) in the high jump (1.60 meters / 5' 3"), frosh Mailani Thomas (Virginia Beach, VA / Temecula - Great Oak HS '15) in the shot put (10.99 meters / 36' 0-3/4"), sophomore Ashley Santos (Lake Elsinore / Elsinore HS '14) in the hammer throw (41.57 meters / 136' 5"), and sophomore Aaliyah Goshen (Riverside / Patriot HS '13) in the javelin throw (29.26 meters / 96' 0").

The Tigers' next competitions will be on Tuesday-Wednesday, April 5-6 for the Southern California multi-event championship and on Saturday-Sunday, April 9-10 at the Cerritos Invitational.
