Riverside Defeats Pepperdine, 101-49, but Loses to CSU Fullerton, 74-75, and UC Riverside, 89-59, Saturday

RIVERSIDE -- Posting a solid win, a one-point loss and a loss by a wider margin against three NCAA Division I opponents, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's track and field team had a solid outing in a non-conference quadrangular meet Saturday (Mar. 5) at legendary Arthur N. Wheelock Stadium on the RCC campus.

Host Riverside downed Pepperdine, 101-49, lost to Cal State Fullerton, 75-74, and to UC Riverside, 89-59.

Among the RCC highlights, sophomore distance runner Crystal Tejeda (Riverside / Norte Vista HS '14) won the 800 meters (2:15.20) and frosh Karla Alatorre (Andrews Osborne HS [OH]) won the high jump (1.57m / 5' 1-3/4").

Riverside will next compete in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Multi-Event Championships which will be hosted by Orange Coast College (OCC) in Costa Mesa on Wednesday-Thursday, Mar. 9-10, at 8 a.m.
