The Riverside City College women's tennis team competed at the Jaguar Invitational this past weekend hosted by Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA. In a tournament that featured Southwestern, San Diego City, Grossmont and Saddleback, the Tigers ran the courts leading to a full bracket sweep in singles and doubles play.

Each singles team won in two sets to speak to the utter dominance of Riverside. Sophomore Maxelle Bernie was the top singles player and cruised to a 6-1,6-0 victory over Grossmont's top player, while sophomore Torrey Mateljan defeated San Diego City's number two by the final score of 6-0, 6-0.

The pair teamed up as the top doubles squad and hauled in the gold medal with ease. After they received a first-round bye, Bernie and Mateljan defeated Grossmont's top team, 8-0, in the semifinal matchup. The championship ballad was dominated by the two as they coasted to an 8-1 victory over San Diego City's top team.

Freshman Keeley Arendt earned a victory in the singles tournament with her score reading 6-0, 6-2, while sophomore Hannah Stevenson continued to play well with a 6-3, 6-0 win. Arendt teamed up with sophomore Miranda Cardenas, who won as the number five singles in two sets (6-2, 6-1), and worked an easy 8-0 semifinal victory as the number two doubles team. They continued on to earn an 8-5 finals win the following day.
