Women’s Tennis Defeats Irvine Valley in Regular Season Finale

The Riverside City College women's tennis team hosted the Irvine Valley College Lasers in the final Orange Empire Conference (OEC) match of the season at home Thursday afternoon. The Tiger's singles play boded well as they defeated the Lasers by the final score of 6-3.

The bottom half of Riverside's singles play told the story of the victory as the third through six slots won in two sets. Freshman Maxelle Bernie earned a 6-0, 6-0 win as the third position, while sophomore Hannah Stevenson earned a 6-4, 6-2 win at the fourth position.

Freshman Miranda Castaneda worked towards a 6-1, 6-0 victory at the fifth position, while freshman Monica Madrid earned a win via forfeit.

Freshman Yasmin Johnson and sophomore Heather Graf reigned supreme as the number two doubles team by the final score of 8-1.
