Ten Tigers Accept Scholarship Offers From Four-year Universities; RCC Won 2016 CCCAA Women's Water Polo Championship
RIVERSIDE -- A total of ten student-athletes from the Riverside City College (CC) Tigers women's swimming and diving and water polo teams from this current academic year have accepted scholarship offers to pursue their intercollegiate academic and/or academic careers at the four-year university level, it was announced at a luncheon Tuesday (May 16) at RCC's Riverside Aquatics Center.
Remarks were made by several RCC officials, including RCC President Wolde-Ab Issac, Ph. D., fourth-year RCC head women's coach Doug Finfrock and fourth-year RCC head men's coach Jason Northcott.
The Riverside City women's swimming and diving team recently completed its season with a ninth--place finish at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Championships, which were hosted by East Los Angeles College (ELAC) in Monterey Park two weekend ago (May 4-6).
The RCC women's water polo team won the CCCAA Championship last November after three straight state runner-up finishes.
The RCC men's water polo team finished third in the SoCals last November and the RCC men's swimming and diving squad placed third at the CCCAA Championshipstwo weeks ago,
