Tigers Remain in Tenth Place After Day 2 of CCCAA Championships; Myers Finishes Third in 100 Breaststroke

MONTEREY PARK -- Gaining a third-place and fifth-place individual finish and an eighth-place relay finish after the second day (of three) of competition at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Championships, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's swimming and diving team still finds itself in tenth place.

The CCCAA Championships are being hosted by East Los Angeles College (ELAC) in Monterey Park.

Through the second day, Sierra leads with 326 points, followed by Santa Rosa Junior College (226 points), Las Positas (224), San Diego Mesa (219) and Santa Barbara City College (217). Riverside is tenth with 124 points.

RCC sophomore Mary Myers (Riverside - M.L. King HS '15) finished third in the 100-yard backstroke (:58.02) and sophomore Emily Martin (Yucaipa / Yucaipa HS '15) finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke (:25.04).

The Tigers placed eighth (8:06.90) in the 800-yard freestyle relay with the quartet of Martin, sophomore Kelly Perez (Riverside / John W. North HS) -- who is pictured, sophomore Jacqueline Johnson (Temescal Canyon HS '15) and sophomore Citlali Salazar (Eastvale - Eleanor Roosevelt HS '15).
