Tigers Tenth After Day 1 of CCCAA Championships

MONTEREY PARK -- Gaining a top eight individual finish and two top ten relay finishes after the first day (of three) of competition at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) Championships, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's swimming and diving team finds itself in tenth place.

The CCCAA Championships are being hosted by East Los Angeles College (ELAC) in Monterey Park.

Through the first day, Sierra leads with 153 points. Riverside is tenth with 53 points.

In the 50-yard freestyloe, sophomore Emily Martin (Yucaipa / Yucaipa HS '15) finished eighth (:25.04).

In the 400-yard medley relay, the RCC quartet of sophomore Mary Myers (Riverside - M.L. King HS '15), Martin, frosh Serina Prado and sophomore Jacqueline Johnson (Temescal Canyon HS '15) finished fifth (4:06.31).

In the 200-yard freestyle relay, the Riverside foursome of Martin, sophomore Citlali Salazar (Eastvale - Eleanor Roosevelt HS '15), Johnson and Myers placed tenth (1:41.24).
