Tigers Lead OEC Championships After Two Days; RCC Sets Team Record in 800-yard Freestyle Relay
HUNTINGTON BEACH -- Leading the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) Championships after two days of competition, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's swimming and diving team hopes finish the task this weekend.
Riverside City, which has accumulated 545.0 points, leads second-place Orange Coast (494.0) by 51.0 points. The Tigers won three of eight events on Friday (Apr. 21). The RCC women set a team record in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:58.67), but finished second to Orange Coast (7:56.52).
RCC sophomore sophomore Mary Myers (Riverside - M.L. King HS '15) set a RCC record in the 100-yard backstroke (:58.2).
RCC sophomore Emily Martin (Yucaipa - Yucaipa HS '15) won the 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.10).
