Tigers Sting No. 12-ranked Hornets

Riverside City College stunned No. 12-ranked Fullerton College with a 70-60 victory on the road Friday night.

The Tigers improve to 11-12 on the year, 2-5 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hornets drop to 17-6 overall and 5-2 in conference.

Four of the five starters for RCC finished in double figures, led by N'Dya Parks' 21 points (8-for-17). Talia Washington added 15 points (6-for-10), while Ariel Perkins (4-for-9) and Nave'ah Pina (6-for-17) chipped in 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Parks added 13 rebounds for a double-double to help RCC grab a slight upper hand off the glass.

The Tigers led by as many as 20 points halfway through the third off two Michelle Soto free throws, 51-31.

Fullerton tried to battle back in the fourth and pulled within nine, but Riverside held on for the 70-60 victory.

RCC looks to take down another ranked foe as it heads to No. 1-ranked Orange Coast College on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
