Tigers Dominate First Day of Santa Ana Tournament

Riverside City College dominated an 82-41 victory over LA Harbor College to tip off the first day of the Santa Ana Tournament.

The Tigers improve to 5-3 with their third-straight win, while the Seahawks drop to 0-8.

Four Tigers finished the game with double-digit points, led by Talia Washington's 26 points (10-for-15). N'Dya Parks posted 16 points (7-for-18) and was one board shy of a double-double, while Michelle Soto grabbed a double-double with 12 points (6-for-13) and 10 rebounds. Camille Hickey added 10 points (4-for-8).

Ariel Perkins dished out 15 assists, which sits tied for third most in program history, and had nine rebounds to help RCC pick up the win.

After a close first quarter, Riverside jumped out to a 16-point lead at halftime after closing the second on a 12-2 run. Soto capped the run with a jump shot to put the Tigers up 37-21.

The Tigers carried that momentum into the third, exploding for 33 points to seal the game. Washington was on fire in the quarter, scoring 13 of her points on 5-of-6 shooting.

Riverside looks to build off the win as it takes on Pasadena City College on Friday at 2 p.m. for the second day of the tournament.
