RCC Cruises Past Canyons

After dominating the first quarter, Riverside City College coasted to a 62-50 victory on the road at the College of the Canyons Tuesday.

The Tigers improve to 4-3 with the win, while the Cougars slip to 2-4.

Two Tigers finished the game in double figures, with N'Dya Parks grabbing her seventh double-double of the season. She finished with 22 points (10-for-20) and 11 rebounds, while Talia Washington added 17 points (8-for-16). Ariel Perkins grabbed 11 boards to help smash the glass as Riverside out-rebounded Canyons 50-to-28.

RCC jumped out to an early 21-5 lead despite the Cougars scoring first. The Tigers shot 10-for-15 in the first 10 minutes, while limiting Canyons to just a 13.3 shooting percentage.

Things may have cooled slightly for the Tigers, who finished with a 43.3 shooting percentage, but they didn't stop pushing and closed out the 62-50 victory.

Riverside gets a week off before heading to the Santa Ana Tournament Dec. 5-7.
