RIVERSIDE -- Sophomore guard Jordan Lofton poured in a game-high 20 points to pace the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's basketball team to a 66-50 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) home win over the visiting Saddleback College Gauchos Wednesday night (Feb. 3) at historic Arthur N. Wheelock Gymnasium.
Lofton, a graduatre of M.L. King in Riverside, was seven of 16 from the floor and six of eight from the free throw line in 32 minutes of play. RCC frosh forward Paradise Hanchett (Moreno Valley / Rancho Verde HS) pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds and had six points and four blocked shots.
Riverside (14-10 overall, 4-4 OEC), which trailed only 2-0, snapped a four-game losing streak with the win. The Tigers outrebounded Saddleback, 61-39.
Saddleback (9-16 overall, 2-5 OEC) was led by Teoncea Bennett with 11 points.
Both teams continue OEC action on Friday, Feb. 5, at 5 p.m. when RCC visits Fullerton and Saddleback visits Cypress.
