Tigers Throttle Orange Coast, 85-59, Wednesday night (Jan. 14)

RIVERSIDE -- Five Tigers scored in double digits, including four starters, as the  Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's basketball team overwhelmed the Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates, 85-59, in a Orange Empire Conference (OEC) game Wednesday evening (Jan. 14) at RCC's historic Arthur N. Wheelock Gymnasium.

Sophomore guard Tierra Fuqua (Rancho Verde HS) popped in a game-high 21 points and added nine rebounds and eight assists for Riverside (13-6, 2-1 OEC). Sophomore center Tori Mitchell (Riverside Poly '13) added 18 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, while sophomore guard Tamara Herring (Citrus Hill '12) added 16 points and frosh guard Jessica Reed (Villa Park '14) added 12 points.

Frosh  center Jasmine Busby (Moreno Valley '14) came off the bench to chip in with ten points and added seven rebounds.

Sophomore guard/forward Jasmine Matar led OCC (3-14, 0-3 OEC) with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

RCC will return to action on Friday, Jan. 16, when it visits the Irvine Valley College (IVC) Lasers in a 5 p.m. tipoff. OCC, which will have a bye on Jan. 16, will next be in action on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when it visits the Santa Ana College Dons in a 5 p.m. tipoff.
