RIVERSIDE -- Leading with less than five minutes to play, the Riverside City College (RCC) women's basketball team couldn't hold on down the stretch and lost, 84-77, to the visiting Fullerton College Hornets Friday night in an Orange Empire COnference (OEC) game at Wheelock Gymnasium.

The Tigers (6-17, 1-8 OEC) led, 71-70, with 4:15 to play, before the Hornets ran off a 9-0 run over the next 3:11 to lead, 79-71, with 1:04 left.

In the final minute, the Tigers had three possessions end with turnovers to seal their fate.

Four Tigers starters score in double figures, led by Kierra Carr with 18 points (and nine rebounds) and Ryan Robinson with 17 points (and five assists). Tierra Fuqua added 14 points and a co-game-high seven assists.

For Fullerton (7-17, 3-6 OEC), Kelli Calton tossed in a game-high 26 points. She had 19 points at the break. Tatiana Scott chipped in with 17 points and seven assists. Noelle Cobb had a good game with 16 points and 14 rebounds, including seven offensive.

The Tigers return to action on Tuesday, Feb. 11, when they visit the Cypress College Chargers. The following week, Riverside will conclude the regular season with a game at Irvine Valley (Feb. 19) before hosting the Orange Coast College Pirates on Friday, Feb. 21, at 5:30 p.m.
