Tigers Drop Road Contest to Dons

Riverside City College struck first but couldn't hold on in a 13-5 (six innings) loss on the road at Santa Ana College Tuesday afternoon.

The Tigers drop to 11-21 on the year and 3-10 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Dons improve to 11-18 overall, 4-9 in conference.

Alysse Flores led the Tigers with two hits in the game, while Elizabeth Sigala and Guadalupe Lemus also had hits for RCC.

Riverside scored first and held a 5-1 lead after scoring four runs in the top of the third. With two runners on, Flores doubled down the left field line to score one before Lemus knocked a two-RBI base hit. Bobbi Arce walked in a fifth run, but it was all the Dons would allow.

Santa Ana turned things around with six runs in the fifth and ended the game early with four runs in the sixth to put the run-rule in play.

The Tigers and Dons continue the series in Santa Ana on Wednesday before closing out the three-game swing on Friday in Riverside.
