RCC Rallies to Grab Comeback Victory

Despite trailing 7-4 heading into the seventh inning, Riverside City College never gave up and scored five runs to grab a come-from-behind 9-7 victory on the road at Santiago Canyon College.

The Tigers improve to 9-20 on the year and 2-9 in the Orange Empire Conference, while the Hawks slip to 9-18 overall, 3-8 in conference.

Riverside had 11 hits in the game, with five coming in the seventh inning alone.

Chloe Lockhart (1-for-1) led off with a double to left field and Bobbi Arce (1-for-4) sent the first run home with an RBI single to right center. The Tigers loaded the bases before the Hawks threatened to get out of the jam by grabbing two outs, but Elizabeth Sigala (2-for-4) drilled a triple to center, allowing three Tigers to come home. Alysse Flores (1-for-4) followed with an RBI single to put RCC in control of the game heading into the bottom half of the inning.

Santiago Canyon managed to get a runner on, but the Tigers locked down their defense and didn't allow any runs as Lockhart sealed the win with a called strikeout.

RCC and Santiago Canyon are slated to close out the series on Friday at 2 p.m. back in Riverside, weather permitting.
