Riverside Can't Fend Off OCC

For the second straight game, Riverside City College capitalized first but couldn't hold off No. 10-ranked Orange Coast College in a 3-2 loss.

The Tigers slip to 7-19 overall, 1-8 in the Orange Empire Conference. The Pirates improve to 16-2 on the year and remain undefeated in conference at 8-0.

Just two Tigers had hits in the game: Sheila Fernanda Cano (1-for-1, two RBIs) and Summer Sanders (1-for-3, one run).

Riverside took the first lead of the game as Cano doubled with bases loaded and two outs to put the Tigers in front 2-0.

OCC responded with a two-run home run in the top of the fourth and plated the go-ahead run in the top of the fifth.

The Tigers kept battling and got runners on base but couldn't send them home to fall 3-2.

RCC hits the road for a nonconference contest at Southwestern College on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
