RIVERSIDE -- Aeriel Carlson socked a three-run home run to left field in the bottom of the second inning after hitting a double in the first inning to power the Riverside City College (RCC) softball team to a 13-0 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) home win over the visiting Golden West College (GWC) Rustlers Friday afternoon (Mar. 10) at Brown (Samuel C. The game was called after 4-1/2 innings due to the (eight-) run mercy rule.

Frosh CF Megan Cartwright (Corona / Norco HS) went three for three with a bunt single in the first, and RBI singles up the middle in the second and third innings. Cartwright also scored three runs for Riverside City (8-7 overall, 4-3 OEC).

Sophomore starting RHP Laura Mendez (Rialto - Carter HS) went the first 3.0 innings to get the win and improve to 6-4. Mendez allowed only one hit and struck out four.
