RIVERSIDE -- The Cypress College Chargers scored five runs in the top of the first inning after two were out and with no one on base and cruised to a 10-0 Orange Empire Conference (OEC) victory over the host Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's softball team Wednesday (Apr. 1) evening at Brown Field (Evans Sports Complex).

The Chargers added a pair of runs in the fourth, also after two were out and with no one on base. A walk and a two-run home run by Khailey Campos gave Cypress a 7-0 lead. A trio of runs in the sixth inning made it 10-0 and put the "mercy" rule into effect (An eight-run margin in the fifth or sixth inning.)

Cypress starting pitcher Taylor Ebner went the distance and scattered four hits, walked none and struck out three. Conversely, RCC's starting RHP Magen Luna allowed 12 hits, ten runs (all earned), walked six and struck out none.
