Tigers Lose, 4-0, at home to Golden West

RIVERSIDE -- The Golden West College (GWC) Rustlers scored a pair of runs in both the second and third innings and went on to blank the host Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's softball team, 4-0, Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 4) in an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) game at Brown Field (Evans Sports Complex.

Golden West (3-12 overall, 1-6 OEC) took a 2-0 in the top of the second inning when starting RHP Mylie Wilson helped her own cause with she clubbed a two-run double to give the Rustlers a 2-0. GWC added another pair of runs in the top of the third for the final 4-0 margin.

Riverside (6-10, 2-4 OEC) put two runners on base with two outs in the bottom of the first for its best scoring opportunity. 

Sophomore SS Jessica Valenzuela had two hits for RCC.

Wilson went the first five innings and scattered six hits and allowed one walk and had one strikeout to notch her first win (1-4). RCC starting RHP Alexia Holman went the distance and allowed nine hits, four runs (all earned), walked none and struck out two as her fell to 3-5.

Riverside returns to action on Friday, Mar. 6, when it visits the Cypress College Chargers in an OEC game at 2 p.m.
