RIVERSIDE -- Scoring early and often, the Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers women's fastpitch softball team atoned for sputtering offensively the previous game and routed the visiting Orange Coast College (OCC) Pirates, 10-0, in a five-inning, Orange Empire Conference (OEC) "mercy" win Wednesday afternoon (Feb. 26) at Brown Field (Evans Sports Complex).

Riverside (8-4, 4-1 OEC) scored five runs in the first, one in the second and four in the fourth on 13 hits. Conversely, OCC (3-5, 1-3 OEC) managed a single in the second for its only safety of the game.

Six Tigers had at least two hits in game, paced by freshman starting RHP MacKenzie Maxwell (Calimesa / Yucaipa HS), who also drove in the final two runs of the first with a single. In the circle, she struck out six and walked two in five innings to earn the victory and improve to 4-1.
