Men’s Cross Country Places Third at State Championships

The Riverside City College men's cross country team traveled to Woodward Park in Fresno, CA on the hunt for their first California Community College Athletics Association (CCCAA) State Championship since 2016. The Tigers put together a strong performance leading to a third-place finish in a state championship that was mainly paced by southern talent.

Riverside finished behind two powerhouse Southern California programs in Mt. San Antonio (59) and San Diego Mesa (62). Seven of the top-10 finishers came from the Southern region.

Leading the way from Riverside was none other than sophomore anchor Gavyn Condit. He placed seventh overall with a mark of 20:22.9. It was a tight race to the top five, but he was slightly edged by a mere 10 seconds.

Sophomore David Rush was the next best finisher after placing just outside of the top-25. He earned a mark of 20:56.0 which landed him in 26th place, while sophomore Raen Reyes clocked in a time of 20:57.9 leading to a 28th place finish.
