Men’s Water Polo Places Third in OEC Championships

The Riverside City College men's water polo team looked to remain atop the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) podium for the second-consecutive season after by facing off against the fourth-seeded Saddleback College Gauchos in the third-place showdown. After hauling in the bronze in the 2017 conference championships, the Tigers looked to repeat their third-place showing from a year ago and did so successfully with a 13-5 victory.

The Tigers utilized an all-around strong showing highlighted by the performance of freshman David Romero in the cage. He reeled in a career-high 20 saves while dishing out two assists. He picked up his seventh win of the season.

Sophomore Jacob Bills recorded a team-high four goals to pace the offense. Freshman Ethan Saenz, freshman Ty Narramore, and sophomore Alexis Gutierrez followed with two netters.

Sophomore Norbert Kovacs fired home two goals and dished out one assist.
