Men’s Water Polo Defeats Saddleback in Regular Season Finale

The Riverside City College men's water polo team hosted the Saddleback College Gauchos in the Orange Empire Conference (OEC) finale on Wednesday afternoon. Riverside had no problem handling the gauchos en route to a 13-8 victory.

The contest was highlighted by the offensive dominance of sophomore Norbert Kovacs. While he leads his team in goals scored with 54, he recorded seven total netters in the victory to act as a season high. He added one steal in the process.

Sophomore Andrew Serrano followed with three goals while holding down the center of the offense. Sophomore Jacob Bills followed with two goals, while freshman Ty Narramore buried one score and recorded two steals.

Freshman David Romero picked up his sixth win of the season after going the distance in the cage en route to eight saves.

Riverside finished the regular season with a 9-12 overall mark encompassing a 2-2 conference clip. They enter the OEC Championship as the third seed and will face off against second-seeded Orange Coast Friday, November 2 at 10:20 a.m.
