Men’s Water Polo Drops Conference Contest to OCC

The Riverside City College men's water polo team faced off against Orange Coast College on Wednesday night in an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) showdown. Despite being locked up at six-all entering into halftime, the Tigers were outscored 9-3 in the final two quarters en route to their first conference loss of the season at 15-9.

Sophomore Norbert Kovacs paced the offense with six netters to match his season high mark. He paces his team in goals with a total of 24. Additionally, he has scored at least one goal in the past five contests.

Sophomore Andrew Serrano followed with two goals, while freshman Ethan Saenz chipped in a score.

Freshman David Romero picked up the loss after manning the cage for three quarters and racking up 12 saves. Freshman Leonardo Monges added a save in the final quarter of play.

Riverside (4-5, 1-1 OEC) will face off against Mercyhurst University on Saturday, September 29 in the 2018 Cal Baptist Lancer Joust Tournament.
