Tigers Lose Regular Season Finale, 16-8, to Visiting Golden West Wednesday; RCC to Enter OEC Championships Next Week

RIVERSIDE -- Allowing seven goals in the third quarter, the host Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's water polo team lost its Orange Empire Conference (OEC) regular season finale, 16-8, to the visiting the Golden West College (GWC) Rustlers Wednesday (Oct. 26) at Riverside Aquatic Center on the RCC campus.

Riverside City (16-8 overall, 3-2 OEC) trailed, 3-0, at the end of the first quarter, 6-2 at halftime and 13-5 heading into the final stanza. Golden West is 22-0 overall and finished 5-0 in OEC play.

Sophomore utility player Kyle Christian (Riverside / M.L. King HS '15), sophomore center Jonah Saenz (Riverside / Riverside Poly HS '15) and sophomore driver Lazar Raca (Belgrade, SERBIA / Sports HS '15) each scored two goals for RCC. Freshman goalkeeper Kristopher McVeigh (Riverside / Riverside Poly HS '16) had 12 saves and four steals.

The OEC Championships will be held at Saddleback College, Nov. 3-5. Riverside will face an opponent at a time to be determined.
