Tigers Top Saddleback, 16-8, Wednesday; Will Participate in Golden West Tournament #2 This Weekend

RIVERSIDE -- Leading from the first goal, the host Riverside City College (RCC) Tigers men's water polo topped the visiting Saddleback College Gauchos, 16-8, in an Orange Empire Conference (OEC) game Wednesday (Oct. 19) at the Riverside Aquatic Center on the RCC campus.

Riverside City (14-5 overall, 3-1 OEC) led, 5-0, at the end of the first quarter, 9-2 at halftime and 13-4 after three quarters.

Freshman driver William Moncada (Medellin, COLOMBIA / Calasanz HS '16) -- who is pictured -- led RCC with four goals and two assists. Sophomore center Jonah Saenz (Riverside / Poly HS '15) added three goals for RCC. Sophomore utility player Kyle Christian (Riverside / M.L. King HS '15) had two goals and six steals.

Freshman goalkeeper Kristopher McVeigh (Riverside / Riverside Poly HS '16) played the first half and had five saves. Sophomore goalie Dustin Shaw (Riverside / M.L. King HS '15) played the second half and had six saves.

Riverside will next be in action on Friday, Oct. 21, at the Golden West Tournament #2. The Tigers will face the Los Angeles Valley College (LAVC) Monarchs (4-13) in a 12:50 p.m. start.
